Well, what tv-stars usually do? She was partying with other adored celebrities - the hip and cool star wreck team and the word famous MikroBitti's game reviewers

I agree. I think you should concentrate on composing the movie. It would be interesting to see some "real stuff" instead of seeing wreck team bumbling around (although i liked the scene where Samuli recruited a woman to the Wreck :) ). Forum team may appriciate insideouts but IMHO the mass audience isn't interested stuff like this...

Some points:

1) Sorry, no "real stuff" before the actual trailer. It would spoil the trailer. So do you think it would be best not to release *anything*? OF COURSE it would be more interesting to see the whole frigging movie instead of the insideouts... But currently IOs are the only thing I can offer!

2) Due to some technical difficulties I *had* to test editing on some non-essential stuff. Wouldn't it be quite stupid to try editing a SW6 scene and get it corrupted, would it?

2) To get at least *something* finished increases our team motivation, as funny as it sounds. So by wasting a couple of nights on this short clip I actually speeded up the production. Although this was the last Insideout.

3) Without any proofs it's hard to say what masses prefer, as you said, it was your opinion. So far people have liked IO6 very much ("I'm afraid that this is better than the real movie..."). And basically insideouts are aimed at the enthusiastic fans, like the ones reading this board. Actually I'd say we don't have a "mass audience". Or why should I care more about masses than our loyal fans (who no doubt liked IO6)?

So, if you don't like them, don't watch them. But please don't try to tell me how things in my movie should be done - especially when you don't know all the facts. I really hate it.

I'm sorry, it wasn't mention to make you angry... I tried to give little critical comments(failed?) while others praise without any criticism. I understand that people get tired when production stretches (in little productions too..) and they need to be cheered up.

Your team has very good spirit(alcohol :) ), there is no question of it, but for me it smells a little bit blowing one's own trumpet to show it in insideouts(now i'm going to get lots of hatemail...). I showed IO6 to some people who are generally interested in amateurscene(not as much as i do) and have seen some previous wrecks(and liked). The first comment was "who watches these?".

I think production of this scale has potential to go further than just for loyal fans. I've seen many "ordinary" guys watching Wreck 5. And what can happen if you just care about you fans? Look at SW: Episode I.

Somehow I don't think Insideouts are worthy of critical comments. It's not like they are meant to be great entertainment for the whole family.

I guess that those who for some reason want to see what it's like to make Star Wreck. Or those who are hooked on reality tv and can't get enough of ordinary people making asses out of themselves in front of a camera :)

Wasn't Ep 1 the complete opposite? Not much for fans, too much for the little kids.

I think you took the video too seriously. It was supposed to be funny - not a document film. Our filming crew doesn't drink alcohol during filming sessions. Do you think we are stupid? Alcohol and and 10000e equipment don't mix very well. Timo was just hanging around in Stockholm while I was taking some material.

I showed IO6 to some people who are generally interested in amateurscene(not as much as i do) and have seen some previous wrecks(and liked). The first comment was "who watches these?".

The same people who buy for example Star Wars episode I DVD just for the extras. As I said, IOs are aimed at hard core audience, who want to know what it's like to film this movie (in a humorous way).

I think production of this scale has potential to go further than just for loyal fans. I've seen many "ordinary" guys watching Wreck 5.

And how does some hard core stuff prevent this? Basically you are saying "Damn, I hate those extras on Star Wars I DVD. Now I can't buy the DVD".

And what can happen if you just care about you fans? Look at SW: Episode I

I'm sorry? So I'm not supposed to care about our fans? Excuse me, but they are keeping the project alive. They are supporting us by donating money and buying SW1-5 on cd. They are willing to buy SW6 on DVD and making it possible to continue making more movies. So hard core audience always comes first in small productions like this.

Yes. And the bottom line is: you don't have to watch inside-out if you don't want to. As you might have seen, we do not advertise inside-outs in almost any other way than in #starwreck's topic and news-section. Inside-outs are a little brainbreak from film editing, and we do need it to keep the movie editing fresh and enjoyable doing. At the moment it (kangistua kaavoihin), it loses the main point and we start doing the same basic amateur shit the internet is full of. Making an inside-out is a few hour project - and this time it turned out to be maybe the most significant few hours in this project, since we realized that XP does shit and kills files when Premiere goes down. That's why we made this inside-out 3 times. Imagine what would've happened if we'd started editing normal - say 2-3 scene chunk of almost final stuff and then the problem would've occurred. That would've ment few months of work, in worst case. This time it was only 3 days of making and re-making.

Well... To the crew behind Star Wreck I just want to say I appreciate the Inside Out.

It was hilarious and gave my a break from my everyday life that was sorely needed.

Keep up the good work and I hope the Inside Out's make as extra's on the DVD.

Spirit = solidarity (the other meaning is here following smiley). Blowing one's own trumpet = boasting yourself. Hopefully i expressed myself more accurately this time. I've got nothing against people drinking alcohol sometimes.

Okay, you convinced me to believe that you can keep low profile, stay calm in advertising(no more "Säkällä pikkaisen aikaisemmin") and that insideouts benefit both wreck team and hard core fans. Arguing about opinionstuff isn't very fertile and as you said, i don't have to watch it. Just keep up good work(producing the final movie). May the rendering force be with you!

Post scriptum: I though that Lucas tried too much to please fans and thus failed and made a sterile, nothing-saying movie.

Well spoken, ol' pal Mäntylä!

Now that the quarrel has been settled and we all were right in our own way, next momentum arises: Samuli is moving today. And so are his computers. And within computers, so are also his hard drives. So, let's hope everything goes right.

Also, as you might know, Samuli doesn't yet have netability at his house, so he is not as net-available as he used to. Wreck-pages are upheld by Jarmo Puskala (Righte0us) during that time.

So, in 5-8 weeks, Samuli will be back online.

Off to moving,

Timo
